NEW SCIENCE FOR A NEW CENTURY

THE BIOMEDICAL AND PHYSICAL SCIENCES FACILITY WILL FOREVER CHANGE THE LANDSCAPE OF MSU, AUGMENTING THE QUALITY THAT ALREADY IS EVIDENT IN THE CALIBER OF ITS STUDENTS AND FACULTY, AND POSITIONING IT AS A WORLD-CLASS RESEARCH UNIVERSITY WELL INTO THE 21ST CENTURY.

More than half of the nation's basic science research is conducted in university laboratories where students and faculty attempt to push back the boundaries of scientific knowledge, a frontier that will help to define life in the 21st century.

MSU understands that great science is achieved in an environment that stimulates and rewards success. Top-ranked faculty require state-of-the-art facilities, ease of access to peers in complimentary scientific research disciplines and talented pools of graduate and undergraduate students.

To propel the sciences at MSU into the next century, Michigan legislators have approved $70 million to construct the Biomedical and Physical Sciences Facility. Through its campaign, "New Science for a New Century," MSU aims to raise an additional $23 million in gifts to complete the project. As MSU raises funds for science in a new century, it reaffirms its commitment to continuing a legacy of research that has significantly improved the quality of life for citizens across Michigan, this country and the world.
